BetMaster Online was losing 70% of registered players before first deposit and had no retargeting infrastructure. We built a full-funnel retargeting system — display retargeting for cart abandoners, dynamic email sequences triggered by player behavior, push notification winback flows, and personalized SMS offers for VIP reactivation. The system recovered over $500K monthly from players who would have been lost.

BetMaster Online was hemorrhaging potential revenue at the registration-to-deposit stage. Analytics revealed that 70% of players who completed registration never made a first deposit — a drop-off rate nearly double the industry benchmark of 40%.
The funnel was leaking at multiple points: the deposit page had a confusing UX with too many payment options displayed simultaneously, the welcome bonus terms were buried in fine print, and there was zero automated follow-up for players who abandoned the deposit flow.
Players who did deposit but then went inactive for 30+ days received no re-engagement communication. The retargeting pixel had been installed incorrectly for 8 months, meaning display retargeting campaigns were firing on the wrong audiences.
Meanwhile, the CRM system contained 95K registered non-depositors and 38K lapsed depositors, representing an estimated $2.8M in unrealized lifetime value based on the brand's average player LTV of $210.
We implemented a comprehensive retargeting and CRM recovery system designed to close the 70% reg-to-deposit gap. First, we fixed the retargeting pixel implementation across all platforms — Google Display Network, Meta, and two programmatic DSPs — and built granular audience segments: registration abandoners, deposit-page abandoners, registered non-depositors (segmented by days since registration: 1, 3, 7, 14, 30), and lapsed depositors (segmented by previous deposit value).
Display retargeting campaigns used dynamic creative showing the exact welcome bonus each player was eligible for, with urgency messaging that escalated as the bonus expiration approached. For CRM recovery, we deployed a 12-touch dynamic email sequence triggered by the registration event.
Emails adapted content based on player behavior — those who had viewed specific games received personalized game recommendations, while sports bettors received odds highlights for upcoming matches. Push notification win-back campaigns targeted the 38K lapsed depositors with a three-stage escalation: a "we miss you" message at day 7, a free bet offer at day 14, and a premium reload bonus at day 21.
Results over 90 days: registration-to-deposit conversion improved from 30% to 52%, display retargeting achieved a 6.2% click-through rate with a $34 cost per first-time depositor, the email sequence recovered 11,400 non-depositors, and push win-back reactivated 4,200 lapsed players.
Total recovered revenue exceeded $1.1M in the first quarter.
Fixed incorrectly implemented retargeting pixels and built granular audience segments based on funnel stage and days since last activity for precision targeting.
Deployed dynamic creative ads showing each player's specific eligible welcome bonus with urgency messaging that escalated as bonus expiration approached.
Built a behavior-adaptive 12-email sequence for registered non-depositors, personalizing content based on games viewed or sports interests to drive first deposits.
Launched an escalating push notification sequence for lapsed depositors with increasing incentive value at day 7, 14, and 21 to maximize reactivation rates.
“Losing 70% of registrations before first deposit was like filling a bathtub with the drain open. The retargeting and CRM system plugged the leak — moving from 30% to 52% deposit conversion changed our entire unit economics overnight.”
